Yet another class assignment, this one to bring our faces to life in a 3D wire sculpture, designed to only be viewed from one angle. I chose the picture below because it hid my hair and I liked the headphones. I drew over my face in Photoshop and created an outline for me to follow with wire. This was the first time I decided to trust my gut as an artist confident in my work. My teacher at the time didn’t like the Piece I had flattened for my hairline, but I thought it was a perfect addition to add a little more to the piece. I learned that I should stick to my gut when making creative decisions, but still be mindful of advice in order to improve in my work. I ripped up my hands and bent and twisted each piece so carefully to not throw off the proportions. I was very satisfied with how it turned out.
