Otis Helped

The Process

This fluffy doofus’ name is Otis. I have had him since he was a baby and I decided to recruit his help for this project. The assignment was to create something in an alternative way, so my brain went to “Lets dip Otis in paint and let him roam about on an old blanket.” So that’s exactly what I did, I took over the living room of our little apartment and spread a blanket out and held it down with weights. I put paint in a box and dipped Otis’ feet in, he did not like it, so right off the bat this became way more difficult. He wanted to run away and under things to hide, which made me feel bad, so we made this with two colors instead of the many more which were intended. I then wrapped the blanket around a canvas with the most interesting paw pattern to me, stapled it, then trimmed the excess. I went to my go to and opened Photoshop to draw a rough sketch, then painted the outline to create a scene of a teddy bear like figure taking his pet for a walking, I thought a fitting tribute to it’s creators.
