The Beginning

It all starts with an idea, big or small, well refined with weeks of planning, or five minutes prior to the deadline. This story starts both small and last minute, through my idea process my wife had the idea of building a home with small men. I used that to find the idea of creating a narrative that leads to the construction of a pirate ship. I have found peace and mindfulness by fully engulfing myself in the project much like the men in the photos. As the scenes we’re created they started reflecting the struggles I faced in real life, as time went on the men went through harder obstacles or challenges in order to achieve the goals. As the men got more advanced with their building techniques, I too wanted to be more creative and wired real lights into the boat to create a fun illusion within the photos.
